 Our
philosophy of church is very simple. As a pastor I want
to make sure that we do not put up any hurdles in your effort to draw
closer to God. What do I mean by hurdles? Well, you can truly come as
you are. We do not put up hurdles by judging the way someone dresses,
or put up the hurdles called church politics and bureaucracy.
Our simple focus comes
from what the Bible calls “The Greatest Command” in
Matthew 22:36-40, which is to love God with everything you are, and to
love your neighbor as yourself. I know, as a pastor, if I can get
people to do these two simple things I have done my job.
Ocean Pacific Church,
under a previous name, was the second church planted in this area around
1953. What does that mean? It means we offer a history of stability and
integrity. But the great thing about OPC is that we are not stuck in
the past, we have recreated ourselves to be the contemporary church we
are today. So in a sense we offer the best of both worlds, we are a
church with a rich history in this community and we are a new church who
has freshly re-planted itself.
So wherever your
