F.A.Q.
for God Series…WHY DON’T YOU ANSWER MY PRAYERS?
1. FALSE ________________________
And even when you do ask, you don't
get it because your whole motive is wrong—you want only what will give
you pleasure. – James 4:3
2. SIN
- Listen! The LORD is not too weak to save
you, and he is not becoming deaf. He can hear you when you call. But
there is a problem—your sins have cut you off from God. Because of
your sin, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. –
Isaiah 59:1-2
- Search me, O God, and know my heart; test
me and know my thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life. – Psalms
139:23-24
- If I had not confessed the sin in my heart,
my Lord would not have listened. – Psalms 66:18
3. ______________________________
"Son of man, these leaders have set
up idols in their hearts. They have embraced things that lead them into
sin. Why should I let them ask me anything?” – Ezekiel 14:3
4. STINGINESS
- Those who shut their ears to the cries of
the poor will be ignored in their own time of need. – Proverbs
21:13
- “If you give, you will receive. Your gift
will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to
make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in
giving—large or small—it will be used to measure what is given back
to you." – Luke 6:38
- And we will receive whatever we request
because we obey him and do the things that please him. – 1 John
3:22
5. ______________________________ SPIRIT
“When you are praying, first forgive anyone you
are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive
your sins, too." – Mark 11:25
6. WRONG RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN HUSBAND and WIFE
In the same way, you husbands must
give honor to your wives. Treat her with understanding as you live
together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner
in God's gift of new life. If you don't treat her as you should, your
prayers will not be heard. – 1 Peter 3:7
7. _______________________________
If you need wisdom—if you want to
know what God wants you to do—ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He
will not resent your asking. But when you ask him, be sure that you
really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a
wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. People like that
should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. – James 1:5-7
